Bridge, Lade Path and PlatformMuch discussion has taken place on the educational aspects relating to the environmental interests of the Mill Lade area and low lying ground between the Lade and the river and it is suggested that access to the Mill Lade could be provided to accommodate small parties of children who would be introduced to the flora and fauna by comprehensive interpretative signage and occasional lectures at appropriate times and seasons. An area has been identified where the existing path is closest to the Mill Lade and access to the raised level of the Lade banking could be achieved by means of a simple timber bridge approximately 8 metres long. Once the Mill Lade is reached it is suggested that a timber pathway be built along the banking for a length of approximately 40 metres. The pathway would have slatted decking and timber handrails. The culmination of the pathway would be a small timber constructed viewing area approximately 5 metres square which would overhang the low lying area below. This viewing area would be the location for interpretative signage which would advise people of what could be seen.
