Raise path at Lade crossoverThis work section describes the action required to alter the level of the existing East bank path where the path bridges the Mill Lade just before it reaches the river. At present the section of path above the two large culvert pipes floods on occasion to a depth of 300mm on occasion. In addition to the flooding problem the incline of the path down to the culvert area is steep and could present a problem for wheelchair users. Accordingly
it is proposed to raise the level of the path at its lowest point by 450mm
and easing the slope up to the existing path system leading to the
footbridge. The method of
raising the path levels will be as previously described in Section 9 with
the diameter of the six drain relief pipes being increased to 200mm.
The surface of the new path will be carried out in tarmacadam to
match the adjoining paths.
