Updating of Play Area

Considerable discussion on the state of the existing enclosed Play Area bounding the Boating Pond and Millbank Road has taken place within The Rotary Club and while it is recognised that the responsibility for this facility lies with Highland Regional Council it was felt important that reference to this area and its future is included in the Study.

It is understood that the present Play Area was established circa the mid sixties and the general opinion within The Rotary Club is that it has outlined its usefulness and bears little reference to the needs of children in this day and age.

It is considered that the rejuvenation of the Play Area should be a priority and thought should be given to providing a suitable facility such as an Adventure Play Area or similar.  It is appreciated that major Play Areas are in the pipeline for the Ormlie Estate at this time and it is suggested that up to date facilities for local and visiting children should receive equal emphasis by the responsible bodies.

While precise proposals for the updating of the Play Area are not included at this time a budget funding sum has been allowed later in the Study.
