Raise sections of path, East bankDuring flood conditions the river level rises to overflow three sections of the existing path on the East bank close to the Cemetery Bridge. It is proposed that these ‘low’ areas, each average in 8 metres in length, should be raised by approximately 450mm above the existing level at the lowest point. This will be accomplished by forming in-situ concrete tapered side upstands and upfilling with hardcore and a tarmacadam surfacing. 150mm drain pipes will be placed within the raised paths at strategic areas to relieve the pressure of the flood waters.
