Achvarasdal

The nursing home can be found in Reay, on the "back" road to Thurso. Expect a mixture of mobility from completely mobile, Zimmer frames to wheelchairs.

Prior to the day 

Drivers should contact Mrs Cooke at Achvarasdal one or two days prior to the run to confirm numbers. Phone the Hotel where afternoon tea is planned to let them know (including the driver and helper in those numbers).

Details of the afternoon

The approximate timetable for the afternoon is as follows:

1330    -    Collect Social Work minibus from Thor House (Provost Cormack Road). Check fuel contents                

1400    -    Arrive Achvarasdal

1500    -    Arrive at hotel or venue

1630    -    Arrive back at Achvarasdal

o/c       -    Re-fuel minibus at Dunnets garage with estimate of fuel used. Charge to Rotary account.

1730    -    Return minibus to Thor House. 

If a Rotarian is not available having volunteered to help on the dates of the outing, he/she should arrange to swop with someone else on the Achvarasdal list, or failing that, any other willing Rotarian. 

All drivers must have passed the Social Work minibus driving test and be registered to drive the vehicle. Drivers must read the operating instruction sheet and complete and sign the vehicle drivers log, both of which are in the minibus. Please ensure that wheelchairs are securely fastened to the floor.
