Centenary Business Dinner The Club centenary business dinner on Wednesday 7th September was hosted by Bob Earnshaw at the New Weigh Inn Thurso . This provided an excellent venue and meal for one hundred and fifty guests sponsored by local businesses. The company were welcomed by Ian Sinclair’s jazz quartet setting the tone for the evening then captivated by Dr. Peter Hughes, MBE Chief Executive Scottish Engineering who gave a wonderfully humorous and inspiring speech. Wanda Brooks, staff nurse from the Caithness Palliative Care Unit, the nominated charity, provided a good insight into the work of the unit before Immediate Past President Iain Thompson gave a vote of thanks. When the sums are done and the bills paid, Rotary Club of Thurso expect to have raised £3700 for the Caithness Palliative Care Unit.
