Rotary Speechmaking 2004 As ever the Rotary Speechmaking held in North Highland College was a great success. Seven pupils from third and fourth years of Thurso High School provided excellent entertainment. Their understanding of their chosen topics was impressive and their courage in front of a large audience equally noteworthy. The winner was Michael Barry talking about 'Identity'.
The Speechmaking judges - Iain Thomson, Emma Omand and Stewart Smith. The competitors relax before the final adjudications.
Judge Thomson in summing-up mode! Chairman of the Judges Iain Thomson presents the winner's shield to Michael Barry.
John Hook, Chairman of the event, and competitors and judges pose for the final picture after an enjoyable evening of speeches. The evening was even more appreciated by all present due to the impressive snack buffet arranged by Peter Murchison. Left to Right - John Hook, Shonagh McLennan, Neil MacDonald, Matthew Todd, Emma Omand, Michael Barry, Claire McKeown, Stewart Smith, Mhairi Mackinnon Iain Thomson and Fiona Hendrie.
